Christie from Dark Blue Stripes
Tell us a little about yourself and your blog.
I 'm Christie, a Sydney based girl with a soft spot for stripes and split my time between the worlds of blogging and Occupational Therapy. My fashion blog Darkbluestripes.com is a personal style and fashion diary where I like to share my sartorial choices, fashion perspective, inspirations and of course my love of stripes.
How did you first get into fashion and blogging?
I had just completed my Occupational Therapy degree and had returned from an incredibly inspirational trip throughout Europe. My growing interest in photography and desire to balance my time spent working at the hospital with a creative outlet led to starting the blog. The amazing people and opportunities that have come into my life since launching Dark Blue Stripes have been such a much welcomed bonus.
Where are some of your favourite places to shop?
Online for sure. I frequently browse online stores like ASOS, Topshop, Shopbop, My Wardrobe and Net-a-Porter. Whenever offline I tend to visit boutiques in Paddington. I am not a huge vintage shopper however I like to visit Cream on King Street, Newtown and Glebe markets.
Which bloggers do you look up to and why?
I look up to so many bloggers for different reasons. The gorgeous dream like photography on Alix's blog The Cherry Blossom Girl has always been a strong source of inspiration. I also love how Fabliha and Tasfia from Inside In, Inside Out work a print party and make everyday dressing look anything but boring.
Talyssa & Siree from The Hidden Thimble wants to know: If you had to pick one TV show or movie where you were allowed to keep all the clothing worn in it, which would it be?
Mad Men for the serious retro cool vibes and the fact that it is my favourite TV show of all time.
