more than meets the eye, from day to night at homebake.

Don't you love those pieces in your closet that you can wear a thousand different ways, and dress it up or down? This Cassette Society Tommy Gun shirt dress and St Frock derby day dress are one of those pieces. Now, last week I voiced my complaints about shirt dresses and my inability to figure out how to wear them but this week I figured I'd try wearing it not as a dress but as a vest. It was perfect as the dress I wore underneath was strapless so the shirt dress made sure the backpack straps weren't digging into my shoulders.

This strapless dress from St Frock was not only my first strapless dress but has also won me several compliments. I love this dress because I can dress it up with a pair of heels and a clutch or dress it down with a pair of boots.

Knowing Sydney's weather and its bipolar-ism I knew that I could not just walk out the door with a shirt dress for the whole day, so I packed the Black Dust jacket with me for when the sun went down and the weather would drop. Once again this dress proved volatile!

Do you have any pieces in your wardrobe that are like either the Tommy Gun or Derby Day dress?

  1. Love that LBD on you, it looks really good with the shirt dress layered over the top as a vest :)
