Annora from Nora Finds
Tell us a little bit about yourself and your blog.
I'm a 25 year old scientist by day and a fashion addict by night. I'm originally from Indonesia, but I moved here when I was 16. NoraFinds is an escape from my day job and as the name indicates, a place where I share my finds - editorials, fashion tips, vintage goodies, and all things inspiring.
How did you first get into fashion and blogging?
Honestly I didn't follow fashion religiously when I was younger, I was always busy with school and being a nerd. When I started work, however, I started earning my own money and I realized that I could afford nice things that I couldn't previously. And being 25 helps - I used to worry about what people thought of me when I was younger, but now I know myself better and with this comes the confidence in my own body and my own style. Blogging has also been therapeutic - I didn't have the easiest time in school. I used to get put down for my appearance and I used to strive to fit into the crowds, but now I feel that I am appreciated for who I am.
Where are some of your favorite places to shop?
I'm addicted to online shopping. Having a day job means I spend my nights browsing online shops like a maniac! My favorite places to shop will have to be Etsy for all the handmade and vintage, ASOS for all the modern pieces and fantastic price tags, and I go thrifting in Surry Hills and Newtown quite often.
Which bloggers do you look up to and why?
The top one has to be The Style Crusader for her fantastic articles that always make you think and how her personality always shines through her writing. Then it has to be a tie between Style Slicker - for her fantastic DIYs and sewing skill - and Park and Cube - for her classy style and beautiful photographs.
Jacquii from Couture Caddy wants to know: Who is your all time fashion / style icon?
It is probably cliche but Audrey Hepburn is my ultimate style icon. The 50s is my favorite era, and Audrey with her pixie cut has the perfect balance between a feminine silhouette and comfortable boyish style. And she's just gorgeous.
What should we ask the next interviewee?
If you could be transported to another era in history, what would it be and why?
