As a child I had the opportunity to dance. I learnt ballet, tap and jazz. However as so progressed my mother decided it was time to focus on education and dancing fell by the wayside. As So You Think You Can Dance hit the screens, for years I dreamt that I had continued and admired the graceful dancing (mainly contemporary and ballet). As my secondary education came to an end I decided to pursue my dream of being a dancer. The summer before my first year of university my friend and I took up lessons at the Sydney Dance Company in Walsh Bay. However after several lessons we lost the initial high and stopped going. 2 years on that dream still burns within me. So with that surging through my veins I took a friend to finish off what I started. Sadly, after my soccer injury to my hip last year dancing was excruciating. So there goes that dream.
For all those wanting to learn a few dancing tricks definitely check out the Sydney Dance Company. It's only $20 per lesson and $150 for 10 lessons. The teacher, Tibor, is great. He teaches Absolute Beginners ballet on Saturday from 11:30am-1pm.
