morgan joanel @ notes in newtown.

Last night I had the absolute pleasure to see Morgan Joanel (from Mojo Made blog) play at Notes in Newtown. I had walked past this establishment many times, not knowing exactly what it was - but taking a guess it was music related, I was right. What was wonderful about this cute little venue is that the sound quality was jaw-dropping amazing! It was also set up so it would've been perfect for a date night as there were dining tables lining up in front of the stage - I know where I'm going for my next date! Live music, food and booze? What else could you want!

I went to the gig only wanting to see Morgan but after seeing Jordan Millar and Madison Violet play I was super glad that I went and saw all these amazingly talented musicians. Last night's gig reminded me of the gig I went to at the Toff In Town in Melbourne. Maybe this will become my local hit up for gigs? Too bad the public transport home last night was a nightmare - thinking I had time to catch the last bus was revealed much too late that I had missed the last bus...by several hours. Come on Sydney pick up your act or I may just leave you for Melbourne, permanently.

Naturally Morgan was AMAZING! I wanted to film at least one of her songs live but smart 'ol me didn't look at the battery level so I was only able to take a few snaps before it died (boo!). Her last and latest untitled track was fantastic. I can't wait till she releases her album - I'm so excited! If you haven't checked her out yet you must! She's the loop queen and just everything about her performance is amazing!

Jordan is a Tasmanian boy who currently resides in Sydney and he is amazingly talented. I had quite an eloquent description of him as I listened to him last night, but after a few drinks I cannot remember what I originally thought. He's super cute and tries to crack jokes on stage. His voice is exceptional and heart warming. He reminds me a bit of Jason Mraz but better! If you get the chance definitely go out and see him! Check out his stuff here.

The headlining act last night was Madison Violet who are a Canadian duo (abooot!). Their music isn't really up my alley but they are exceptional musicians! They work amazingly well together harmonising and have an amazing energy in their performance. They have a very country-esque feel about their music. These two girls are super funny on stage, sharing insights into their lives. Check out their stuff here!

My drink of choice - Vodka Cranberry
